About Us

Our History

The story of Gilbert Care Network is one of legacy, love, and service. After earning a Master’s in Public Health with a focus on Global Health, Ruth Zake started looking for new opportunities to serve, and her work drew her to underserved communities. During a visit to Uganda in 2024, she witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by vulnerable families—children dropping out of school for lack of fees, mothers without access to basic medical care, and entire communities struggling without essential resources. Ruth felt a calling to make a deeper impact.

With the support of her family and friends, she founded Gilbert Care Network, named in honor of her late grandfather, Mr. Gilbert Musoke, a man remembered for his humility and devotion to helping others. What began as a heartfelt vision to connect compassion with action has since grown into an international nonprofit with offices in both the U.S. and Uganda—building a bridge of hope through education, healthcare, and community empowerment.
